29in. nitro reproved (in 2016, partially struck off) 'highest' damascus barrels, (likely originally smoothbored to 32-bore circa 1890's), raised matt rib engraved 'J.D. DOUGALL. GUN & RIFLE MANUFACTURER TO H.R.H. THE PRINCE OF WALES. 59 ST. JAMES'S ST. LONDON.', open sights with folding leaf sight, white metal-inlaid sight lines, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both, rearward facing push-down sidelever with sliding lock, Dougall 'lockfast' patent action, patent no. 1128 of 7th May 1860, action face with protruding bosses, non-rebounding sidelocks with bolted hammers (one possible replacement, one hammer spur repaired), best ropework and feathered border engraving with best fine acanthus scrolls, the lockplates engraved 'J.D. DOUGALL', the underside with 'J.D. DOUGALL PATENT LOCKFAST', the top-strap with Prince of Wales crest, retaining some colour-hardening (possibly renewed), 14 1/2in. well-figured pistolgrip stock with engraved steel pistolgrip-cap and buttplate, sling eyes, fore-end with grip-catch release lever, weight 7lb. 13oz.
